Two landlords and a 优蜜传媒 property management firm have agreed to pay $93,000 in penalties, plus restitution averaging more than $1,400 to 85 current and former tenants, to settle allegations they illegally evicted local renters under false pretenses, among other violations of state law.

An investigation by the California聽Department of Justice concluded one of the landlords worked with property management company Clemmer & Co. to unlawfully raise rent for dozens of poor tenants 鈥斅爉ultiple times in the same year, in some cases 鈥斅爐hen failed to return security deposits in a timely manner or document deductions.
