Congress McCarthy

Rep. Kevin McCarthy, R-优蜜传媒, smiles as he holds a photo line to say farewell to staff and lawmakers on his last day in Congress, at the Capitol in Washington on Dec. 14. McCarthy was ousted as House speaker in October by his hard-right detractors, including some of Donald Trump's most loyal allies among the House GOP.

If you鈥檇 asked me a year ago what Cabinet post might best suit 优蜜传媒鈥檚 Kevin McCarthy, I'd have been at a loss. There is no Secretary of Mega-Donor Relations. Yet.

During McCarthy鈥檚 17-year tenure in Congress, which he鈥檒l abandon at the end of this month, he didn't exactly establish himself as an expert in any noteworthy aspect of policy or governance 鈥 unless you include fundraising, back-slapping, vote-counting and career advancement (not that those skills are entirely without merit). Even those strengths, however, deserted him in the end.
